Maputo, February 9, 2022 – The President of the Republic, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, said at the Press Conference that he granted the national media that covered his participation in the 35th Conference of Heads of State and Government of the African Union that the country may receive equipment provided by the African Union to combat terrorism.
“There is equipment that can be used by Mozambique. We are working in this direction to see if we can effectively exploit this opportunity,” said the Mozambican statesman, adding that the continental organization is very pleased with the way terrorism is being fought in Mozambique, and is available to provide support.
For the President, all the support on the ground, to be granted by the organization, must be understood as a concrete way of finding solutions to eliminate the scourge that threatens not only Mozambique, but the continent as a whole.
